History - 1999 - 2002

In the beginning... we had fenced off about a quarter of a hectare and started planting native deciduous trees in it, and that seemed an ideal spot to build a small railway. The ground is on a bit of a slope but manageable without great earthworks, so we used the winters to strip down the bits and build them back up into a working loco and two coaches and the better weather to lay some ballast and track.

So an end to end short length of track on the terrace migrated to proto wood and evolved into a bent oval, which grew a siding, which grew a point and more siding, and so on.
